Shipping 

Online shipping is currently available within Canada for terrarium kits and kokedama only. Orders are generally shipped with Purolator on Monday or Tuesday to help avoid weekend delays. A tracking number will be provided. Oversized or remote shipments may require an additional shipping fee, and I will contact you before shipping if this applies. Carrier delays, weather-related delays and improper handling after pickup are outside the control of Glasshouse Tropicals. Kokedama shipments may be postponed when temperatures are unsafe.

Packaging

Terrarium-kit components are packed securely to help prevent shifting or breakage. Kokedama are carefully wrapped and may include insulation or a heat pack when conditions require it. Please track your shipment and bring it indoors promptly—do not leave it sitting outside. When local temperatures are below approximately -10°C, shipping may be held until conditions improve.

Arrival and Care

Open your package carefully and avoid cutting deeply into the box. If anything appears damaged, photograph the package and contents as you open them and contact me as soon as possible. For kokedama, place it in bright indirect light and allow it time to adjust to its new environment. Some temporary yellowing or a damaged leaf can occur after shipping. You may also notice beneficial mites; these are intentionally used for pest prevention. For terrarium kits, check that all components arrived safely and contact me promptly if anything is missing or damaged.

Warranty and Returns

Terrariums and kokedama contain living plants, and terrarium kits are individually prepared. All sales are final and non-refundable.

If you have a concern about your purchase, please contact me as soon as possible. While I’m unable to offer refunds, I’m happy to provide personalized guidance and support to help troubleshoot the issue.

You’re also welcome to text me a photo if you’re unsure about anything—I’m always glad to take a look and offer advice.

Closed-terrarium watering

Closed terrariums are low maintenance, not no maintenance. Always check the soil and condensation before watering. A well-balanced, tightly sealed terrarium may go weeks or even months between waterings.

Starting amounts: Larger glass terrariums with acrylic lids—approximately ¼ cup. Mini terrariums around 3” tall—approximately 1 tablespoon. Terrarium magnets—approximately 1 teaspoon. Terrarium lamps have a very good seal and generally require water much less often.

Light morning condensation: No water needed. No condensation for several days and dry-looking soil: Add a small amount of water. Heavy condensation all day: Remove the lid, if possible, for a few hours.

These amounts are starting points, not a watering schedule. When in doubt, wait—it is much easier to add a little more water later than to remove too much.
